Offaly to celebrate Men's Health Week this June
Offaly is preparing to celebrate Men's Health Week this June, with a jam-packed week of activities.
Taking place from Saturday, June 13, to Sunday June 21, Offaly Local Development will mark Men's Health Week with the support of Mental Health Ireland, Offaly Libraries, Offaly Sports Partnership, An Garda Siochana Laois.Offaly, Offaly Volunteer Centre, Laois Offaly CYPSC, and HSE Ireland.
The week of activities will kick off on Saturday, June 13, with a Dip for Health event at Banagher Outdoor Pool from 9am to 11am.
This will be followed by a number of events on Monday, June 15, including a drop in café at The Cabin in Edenderry from 11am, as well as a Men's Gathering at Mucklagh Community Centre from 12pm to 4pm.
A men's fitness class will be held in Ballycumber Community Centre on Monday from 8.30pm, and Mucklagh Community Centre will also host a cooking demonstation with Hey Pesto! From 7.30pm.
Tuesday, June 16, will begin with a wellbeing session in Edenderry Library from 11am, as well as a coffee morning at MQI, The Tankyard, Tullamore from 10am to 11am.
This will be followed by a men's fitness class in Edenderry GAA at 7pm.
On Thursday, June 18, Mucklagh Community Centre is hosting a men's tea, coffee, and taster session from 10am to 12pm, as well as a men's health talk at 7pm. Darmagh Centre in Tullamore will host a drop in café from 11am, and Tullamore Library will host a wellbeing talk from 2pm.
Friday, June 19, will see Offaly Volunteer Centre hosting a Coffee in the Courtyard event from 10am to 12pm, while LOETB Birr will host a drop in café from 11.30am to 1pm.
A Lads and Dads or Grandads activity event will be held at Shannan Bank Park in Banagher on Saturday, June 20, from 3pm to 4.30pm.
