Offaly woman launches first-ever Traveller stamps
Tullamore woman Maureen Ward travelled to the GPO to help launch the country's first-ever postage stamps celebrating the Traveller community.
Maureen, who works for the Traveller organisation Minceirs Whiden, joined An Post for the unveiling of two new stamps celebrating Irish Traveller history and culture and recognising the Traveller community as a distinct and valued part of the country's shared heritage.
Designed by atelier David Smith, the stamps and specially designed first day cover envelope are available from in selected post offices and online at anpost.com/shop with free postage.
The launch of the stamps took place as part of Traveller Pride Week 2026, a national programme of events which started today (May 18) and continues until May 29.
