Tullamore company's oat bites to be stocked by Lidl
Lidl has announced that products from BiaSol, the Offaly-based sustainable food business, will feature as part of its Kickstart programme spotlighting artisan products from smaller producers.
Niamh and Ruairi Dooley, from Athlone, founded Biasol which is based on Church Road in Tullamore.
Lidl announced this week that Biasol's oat bites are among the products to feature in its 2026 Kickstart supplier development programme which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.
The full Kickstart range, of 50 products from 22 Irish suppliers, will be available in Lidl’s 235 stores nationwide from Thursday, September 10, as part of a two-week promotional campaign.
Biasol's inclusion in the Lidl Kickstart initiative is the latest boost for the business, which last month announced that its 60g maple crumble bar was being made available for in-flight purchase on Aer Lingus flights.
Last year, BiaSol was chosen as one of two winners of the inaugural BMW Ireland Future Entrepreneur Competition.
The company transforms brewers’ spent grain into high-fibre, plant-based food products, creating a circular solution that addresses food waste and improves nutrition.
Lidl Ireland said that, over the last decade, it has invested more than €42 million in its Kickstart supplier development programme, supporting over 300 local suppliers and bringing hundreds of innovative Irish products to Lidl customers.
The programme has also delivered long-term success, with many participants going on to secure permanent listings in Lidl stores.
