Offaly community croups invited to apply for EU Presidency celebration grants
Offaly County Council has announced funding opportunities for local community groups to mark Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union in July 2026.
The initiative aims to support projects that celebrate or highlight connections with EU countries while showcasing the best of Offaly culture, both traditional and contemporary.
Successful projects will form part of the national culture programme, which seeks to ensure cultural activity across every county in Ireland.
The programme encourages public participation in the EU Presidency and reflection on Ireland’s role as an EU Member State.
Grants of up to €2,500 are available, with the possibility of full funding, though funding is limited and applications may be competitive.
Eligible projects could include additions to existing festivals, arts centre programming, community talks or workshops, or cultural events in collaboration with EU partners.
Community groups and organisations in Offaly are encouraged to apply, but all sections of the application form must be completed for submissions to be considered valid.
Questions regarding applications should be submitted by Tuesday, May 26 to community@offalycoco.ie
