Plea to respect facilities as Banagher Outdoor Pool vandalised

The committee of Shannon Bank Park have made a plea to the community to respect facilities at the amenity park, after the recently opened Banagher Outdoor Pool suffered a vandalism incident.

Photos shared of the facility showed a grey substance smeared across benches and pods at the outdoor pool, as well as on the life buoy, which had be interfered with.

Volunteers called the incident, which was discovered yesterday evening (Monday) as 'disheartening'.

"We love seeing the pool so well-used during this beautiful weather However, this is what volunteers found, litter across the park, vandalised pods, and worst of all, life buoys interfered with.

"This is a FREE community facility that we all worked so hard to create together. All we ask is that you enjoy it and leave no trace. Please take your rubbish home, don’t vandalise equipment or signage, leave life-saving equipment alone, and respect the space for everyone."
