Upgrade of over 6km of watermains in Edenderry completed

Uisce Éireann has completed water leakage upgrades to over 6km of watermains in Edenderry.

Delivered as part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme, the project involved replacing ageing and damaged watermains with new, modern pipes to improve the performance of the local network.

In total, almost 6.2km of watermains has now been upgraded, including an additional 730m added following further assessment of the network.

The works will help reduce leakage, minimise the risk of future outages and provide a more consistent water supply for local homes and businesses.

Welcoming the completion of the project, Uisce Éireann’s Portfolio Manager, Dave Murphy, said the works will have a lasting positive impact for the community.

“These works represent an important investment in the water infrastructure serving Jonestown. By replacing ageing watermains, we have strengthened the network, reduced leakage and improved the reliability of the water supply for customers.

“We would like to thank the local community for their patience and cooperation while these essential works were carried out. The benefits of this investment will be felt for many years to come.”

The works were carried out by Shareridge on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
