Mick Cronly, when he completed his 200th parkrun.

Profile of a Parkrunner: Meet Mick

Meet Mick Cronly who has completed more than 200 parkruns and chats to us about his parkrun journey.

When did you first complete a parkrun?

I first completed a parkrun at Mountlucas parkrun on 15th July 2017. I kept going fairly regularly until it was stopped because of Covid. I had a life changing experience in February 2021 when I suffered a major brain haemorrhage. Thankfully, over several months, I made a really good recovery and was able to get back walking, and eventually back running. I was able to get back to parkrun in September 2021 (not long after it had restarted after Covid).  Only for the parkrun  in Mountlucas I would never have gotten back to running. It was great and fellow parkrunners were so brilliant even just to have the chat with.

What's your favourite thing about parkrun?

My favourite thing about parkrun  is every Saturday going to Mountlucas and meeting up with like minded people and it really sets you up for the day...it's great for mind and body. Every time I run, I'm grateful to be able to.

How does it feel to have reached the significant milestone of more than 200 parkruns?

It feels great to have completed my 200th parkrun. It's amazing how quick it came around and then I realised I had ran 1000km mostly around Mountlucas!

What is your favourite parkrun memory?

My favourite memories of parkrun are when I reached my 100th and 200th parkrun in Mountlucas and all my family and friends turned out to cheer me on..it was great.

What words would you use to describe Mountlucas parkrun?
