Offaly twins announced as Miss Universe Ireland 2026 finalists

Offaly twins Dawn and Davinia Knight, aged 41, have been announced as finalists in Miss Universe Ireland 2026.

The launch of the event took place on Thursday June 4, at Bewley’s Café Theatre on Grafton Street, Dublin, welcoming finalists, sponsors, media and special guests for an evening of elegance, celebration and golden summer glamour.

Davinia, a proud wife and mother living in Portarlington, said: "Taking part in Miss Universe Ireland means so much to me, as it represents far more than a competition. It’s a platform that celebrates confidence, individuality, and the strength of women at every stage of life. Competing has always been a dream of mine, and I am passionate about showing that ambition, beauty, and self-belief have no age limit."

She said: "I hope to inspire others, especially women and mothers, to follow their dreams, embrace who they are, and believe it’s never too late to pursue something meaningful."

Dawn works as an art teacher and also happily married and lives in Rhode. "Creativity has always been the thread that runs through my life, from my time at art college where I fully immersed myself in my passion for art to now, where I have the privilege of inspiring others through teaching," she said.

Current Miss Universe Ireland Aadya Srivastava (19) from Galway was crowned last year by Miss Universe Ireland 2024 Sofia Labus from Cork.

Miss Universe Ireland will follow in the footsteps of previous winners Roz Purcell, Joana Copper, Dancing with the Stars alum Aishah Akorede and Sofia Labus and Aasya Srivastava.

Miss Universe Ireland has become an increasingly influential platform for ambitious young women in Ireland, opening doors in modelling, media, business, advocacy and international representation.

The winner of Miss Universe Ireland 2026 will receive an exclusive prize package along with the honour of representing Ireland on the world stage at the Miss Universe global final, where delegates from more than 100 countries will compete for the title and reigning Miss Universe, Fátima Bosch Fernández of Mexico, will crown her successor.
