Dunne returns to Formula 2 Grand Prix action in Austria
Offaly racing driver Alex Dunne returns to FIA Formula 2 action in Austria this weekend as he looks to improve upon his championship standing.
Dunne secured a third consecutive podium finish at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, a result which sees the Clonbollogue native placed fourth in the overall championship standings following the fifth F2 race of the 2026 season.
In a social media post ahead of race week preparations, Dunne said he was "excited to get back on track this week".
"We’ve had strong pace at Redbull Ring in the past so looking to maximise the weekend and collect strong points," he said.
Dunne will compete in the grand prix qualifying session on Friday afternoon with championship points to be won in the sprint race on Saturday.
The feature race, consisting of 40 laps of the Spielberg track, covering a distance of approximately 173kms, takes places on Sunday morning.
