No more cats to be taken in at Offaly SPCA

The Offaly Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Offaly SPCA) has closed its doors to accepting any more cats or kittens, the organisation has announced.

In a social media post, the Offaly branch – based at Market Place, Tullamore – said: 'We are sorry to say we have to close our doors to taking cats and kittens. We just don't have enough foster homes to care for these poor animals'.

To clarify, the Offaly branch of the SPCA remains open and operational, but has asked that if people can help with fostering cats or kittens currently in its care, to contact the organisation via its Facebook page.

Offaly SPCA also asked members of the public to repost and/or share its post about not accepting any more cats or kittens at its premises.
