Offaly County Council shortlisted for national sustainability award

Offaly County Council has been shortlisted in the ESB Creative Sustainability Award category at the Business to Arts Awards 2026 for its innovative project, Bog Bothy: A New Peatlands Architecture.

The project was developed in partnership with the Irish Architecture Foundation and Meath County Council, with support from Offaly County Council's Creative Ireland Programme. It is hosted by Clara Heritage Society adjacent to Clara Bog.

The national shortlist recognises the project's success in using creative collaboration to promote sustainability, strengthen connections between local communities and Ireland's peatland landscapes, and encourage new ways of engaging with the country's natural heritage.

The Business to Arts Awards celebrate outstanding partnerships between the arts and business sectors, recognising initiatives that deliver lasting cultural, social, and environmental benefits.

Offaly County Council congratulated all of the partners involved in the Bog Bothy project and extended its best wishes to everyone shortlisted across this year's awards.
