Tullamore Camera Club captures wilderness and wildlife in new showcase

In its recent showcase, the Tullamore Camera Club has pictured a variety of nature inspired images. These include the likes of a young kingfisher, shot by Mary O'Grady at river Birch photography hide, Mullingar. Another picture from the same location is taken by Phil Brady, featuring a rather expressive fox cub.

Valeria Al Tawil's shot of a starling murmuration, at Lough Ennell, is a fine example of a wide angle, photograph. David Gethings's landscape image of the Carrigfoyle Quarry nature reserve (Wexford) belongs to the same league.

Exhibiting macro photography specimen are Celine Nic Oireachtaigh, with her shot of the Six-spot burnet moth, pictured at the Cranberry Farm bog, Cloghan; while Cliff Webb, Joan McKenna and Kinga Kacak bring out geography aesthetics to the fore with their shots of Clonony More (Cloghan), Dunguaire Castle, Kinvara, and Glassilann Beach, Connemara.

The club will next meet on July 30, 8pm at Offaly History Centre, Bury Quay, Tullamore. Renowned Westmeath photographer James Crombie will give a presentation, and new members and visitors are welcome to attend. No previous photography experience is required.
