Acclaimed writer to take part in Birr Library event

Acclaimed writer Sinéad Gleeson will take part in an event in Birr later this month.

As part of the Birr Writers’ Residency programme, Gleeson will be in conversation with county Offaly Arts Officer, Maeve Mulrennan, at Birr Library on Wednesday, September 23, at 7pm. The discussion will explore Gleeson's award-winning work, including recent publications Hagstone and Constellations: Reflections from Life. This free event is open to all and offers a unique opportunity to hear from one of Ireland’s leading contemporary writers.

Constellations: Reflections from Life won Non-Fiction Book of the Year at the Irish Book Awards and the Dalkey Literary Award for Emerging Writer. Her debut novel Hagstone was published in 2024 and was subsequently longlisted for the Dublin Literary Award and shortlisted for the John McGahern Book Prize

It takes place on September 23 at 7pm, at Birr Library, R42 KD37. This is a free event and all are welcome.
