Sylvia sets up her own driving school in Tullamore

The very experienced driving instructor Sylvia Molloy is breaking out on her own and setting up the brand-new Sylvia's Driving School in Tullamore.

Sylvia has been working for Aviva Driving School for many years, and is now bringing that experience to her own new business. Sylvia is a local woman, the daughter of Gerry and Vera Molloy, of Marian Place, Tullamore.

“I have always wanted to open my own business as a driving instructor. I’ve gained a lot of experience while working for Aviva, and now it is time to put that experience to good use,” states Sylvia.

“I have a lot of new ideas to bring to the business and these new ideas will be a big help to the many people who want to get their full driving licence. I am experienced and very patient and can arrange lessons to suit people. Above all, I want people to be confident drivers.”

Sylvia had to study hard to qualify as a driving instructor as she worked through the individual modules of Theory, Driving Skills and Teaching Skills. Many people have continued driving by using their learning permit, but there is going to be a clampdown on this in the near future as Learner drivers will have to prove they have booked a test before they get their third provisional licence.

Drivers who wish to sit for the test for a full driving licence need to prove that they have taken 12 driving lessons. Sylvia is charging €50 per lesson and will offer the full 12 essential driving lessons for the reduced cost of €550.

Sylvia will also offer pre-test preparation, refresher lessons, and motorway lessons. Another innovation is the production of a Parent’s Guide Booklet; this will help parents to guide their family through the driver learning process in a positive way.

Sylvia is very focused on her clients and wants to give that bit of extra help which will assist people to be successful when they sit for their test for the full driving licence.
