Midlands North-West MEP to address Tullamore Probus Club

Ciaran Mullooly MEP will address members of the Tullamore Probus Club on Tuesday, 22 September (11am) at the Charleville Centre, Church Avenue, Tullamore.

Mr Mullooly was invited to speak about his journey from journalism and broadcasting to his election to the European Parliament, the work of an MEP, and the issues currently being dealt with at European level.

He said he is particularly looking forward to the discussion with members, who bring 'a considerable depth of experience from business, professional life, public service and the wider community'.

“There is a tremendous wealth of experience in a group like Probus, built up over decades in business, the professions, public service and community life,” Mr Mullooly said.

“That experience has enormous value. People who have spent their working lives making decisions, adapting to change, solving problems and contributing to the development of their communities have a perspective that should always be listened to and respected.”

The Midlands North-West MEP added: “I am looking forward to discussing my own journey and the work I am doing in the European Parliament, but equally I am looking forward to hearing the views of the members and answering their questions. I think there is real value in bringing those different experiences and perspectives together.”

Mr Mullooly will discuss his work in Brussels and Strasbourg, his roles on European Parliament committees. and some of the key issues currently affecting the Midlands North-West constituency, before taking questions from members.
