Appeal launched for family of Banagher workplace accident

A fundraising appeal to help support the family of the father and daughter who were killed in a workplace accident in Banagher last week, has attracted a huge public response, with more than €9,000 raised in a few days.

The appeal was issued following the tragic deaths of Mihai Chinez (49) and Denisa Mihaela Chinez (24), in a workplace accident at Banagher Precast Concrete on Monday last.

A 'GoFundMe' fundraiser - entitled 'Wife Angela and her 15 years old daughter Lavinia' - has since been launched by Eusebiu Balint and has prompted an extraordinary response from the local community and beyond, with €9,326 raised through 204 donations as of today (Monday morning).

Mihai and Denisa are survived by Mihai’s wife and Denisa’s mother, Angela, Mihai's daughter and Denisa’s sister, Lavinia Alexandra, Denisa’s fiancé, Liviu Blaj and their extended family.

In an appeal accompanying the GoFundMe campaign, Eusebiu said Angela Chinez and her 15 years old daughter Lavinia 'need our full support in this terrible moments'.
