Through the annual allocation of Local Property Tax (LPT), Offaly County Council has established the Local Property Tax Community Capital Projects Scheme to support significant community-led capital developments throughout County Offaly.
The local authority is now inviting applications to the scheme, which is designed to support significant community-led capital projects that deliver long-term benefits to communities throughout County Offaly. A fund of up to €100,000 is available under the 2026 funding round.
The aim is to improve community infrastructure; support health and wellbeing; enhance sporting, cultural, arts, heritage and environmental facilities; promote inclusion and accessibility; demonstrate strong community ownership and investment; and lever substantial additional funding from other sources.
Applications are invited from community, sporting, cultural, arts, heritage and environmental organisations, as well as community development organisations, not-for-profit social enterprises, and other eligible not-for-profit organisations operating within county Offaly.
Applicants must be members of the Offaly Public Participation Network (PPN), have been established and actively operating for a minimum of two years, demonstrate appropriate governance and financial management practices, and meet all eligibility requirements outlined in the Scheme Guidelines.
Projects seeking funding under this scheme must be capital in nature and have a minimum total project value of €500,000.
