Play packs now available to borrow from Offaly libraries

Offaly County Council's Community & Culture Department, in partnership with Offaly Libraries and Offaly Sports Partnership, has launched a new Play Pack Loan Scheme giving families and communities across the county free access to play and activity equipment.

The Play Packs are now available to borrow from Tullamore, Birr and Edenderry libraries using library cards. Library membership is free and there is no charge to borrow a Play Pack.

Each Play Pack contains a selection of games, toys and sporting equipment suitable for children and is described by the council as 'ideal for use by families, community groups, residents’ associations, street parties, community play days and local events'.

Families and groups interested in borrowing a pack can contact or call into their participating library to check availability and borrowing arrangements.

Building on the success of the Playful Communities initiative in Offaly, the new scheme is designed to make it easier for children, families and communities to create opportunities for play, physical activity and connection in their own local areas.

The Playful Communities initiative has supported communities throughout Offaly to create welcoming opportunities for children and families to come together, be active and enjoy local spaces.

The Play Pack Loan Scheme is an Offaly County Council Community & Culture initiative, delivered in partnership with Offaly Libraries and Offaly Sports Partnership, with support through Healthy Offaly.
