Plan submitted for 92 home development in Edenderry

Plans have been submitted for a new 92 home development in Edenderry.

The planning application was made by Mark Mullally on behalf of Newlyn Homes Ltd on Wednesday, November 12, for a site west of Father Paul Murphy Street that is currently zoned as New Residential in the Edenderry Local Area Plan 2023-2029.

The development is planned to consist of 19 two storey four-bed semi-detached houses, one two storey four-bed semi-detached house, ten two storey three-bed semi detached houses, nine ground floor one-bed maisonettes, one ground floor one-bed maisonette, nine two-storey two-bed duplex maisonettes, one two storey two-bed duplex maisonettes, 20 two storey two-bed mid-terrace houses, 12 two storey three-bed end terrace houses, 10 two storey three-bed mid terrace houses.

Other features of the development include a two storey creche sized at 238sq/m, as well as access from Father Paul Murphy Street, internal access roads and footpaths, foul sewers to connect to existing public sewers via on-site temporary treatment system, surface water sewers to connect to existing public sewers, boundary treatments, landscaping and all ancillary site services.

The developer also plans to build the properties and transfer 20 of them to Offaly County Council or a nominated party, including 10 one-bedroom ground-floor maisonettes and 10 two-bedroom, first- and second-floor maisonettes.

A decision on the application is expected by Thursday, January 15, 2026.
