RTÉ Midlands Correspondent launches Tullamore Annual 2026

Aligning with the Lions’ mission of voluntary service, this year's edition of the Tullamore Lions Club Annual highlights the voluntary work of a large number of groups in the local community.

The 2026 Tullamore Annual, which was launched in Esker Arts Centre on Thursday by RTÉ Midlands Correspondent, Sinéad Hussey, marks the 14th edition of the publication, which has become an integral part of the fundraising efforts of the club.

Along with featuring the voluntary work of a number of local clubs, this year's annual also celebrates the local, national and international success stories of visionary business leaders; the achievements on the world stage of students in the local forward-thinking secondary schools; the growing importance of protecting the environment, and local sporting heroes who have brought so much pride and joy to the town of Tullamore, the county of Offaly, and the entire country.

The editor of the 2026 Tullamore Annual, and President of Tullamore Lions Club, Dymphna Bracken, told the launch that the work of the Tullamore Men's Shed and Tullamore Scouts, who are celebrating 50 years of service to the youth of the town this year, was also featured in the publication.

So too is local manufacturing business, McDonald International, which employs over 120 people and has commissioned over 30 plants throughout the UK, and another very successful local company, Future Ticketing, which is still headquartered in Tullamore, from where its entire development team builds the technology used for ticketing access to stadiums and venues around the world.

“The importance of local business is highlighted by features on our local craft butchers and Fox’s Grocery Store on Kilbride Street, which is one of the last remaining independent shops in the town,” said Ms Bracken.

She also drew the attention of the audience at yesterday's launch to a feature on a Pakistanian-born consultant working in Tullamore hospital, in recognition of the many people from abroad who have made Tullamore their home.

“Through the continued support of our advertisers and those purchasing our publication, the Tullamore Annual is one of our major annual fundraisers which has enabled our club to be in a position to support so many very worthwhile projects over the past number of years. We are very grateful for that invaluable support,” added the Lions Club President.

The Tullamore Annual is now on sale at all usual outlets and would make an ideal Christmas present for loved ones at home and abroad.
