Clara Christmas lights to be switched on this weekend

The switching on of the Christmas lights in Clara on Sunday, November 30, will mark the start of the festive season in the Offaly town.

Festivities will start in The Square at 5pm on Sunday with live music from Barry Flynn who will entertain the crowd with a selection of Christmas tunes.

Prior to the turning on of the Christmas lights, the annual blessing of the crib will take place with Santa Claus arriving to greet the children and spread some festive cheer.

The winner of the Clara Christmas lights raffle will also be announced, the successful ticket holder having the honour of turning on the lights for 2025.
