League fixtures confirmed for Offaly senior teams
Both Offaly senior football and hurling teams will start their respective Allianz League campaigns against reigning Leinster champions when their competitive seasons start in earnest at the end of January.
The county's footballers will host Louth in Glenisk O'Connor Park, Tullamore on Sunday, January 25, at 2pm, while on the same day, the hurlers will travel to UPMC Nowlan Park to play Kilkenny in their opening fixture, also 2pm.
Under the guidance of joint managers Declan Kelly and Micky Harte, the Offaly footballers will be hoping to build upon their Division 3 success in 2025 as they compete in the league's second tier in 2026.
Offaly will play four of their seven league games at home which is a significant advantage and a welcome boost regarding the target of retaining Division 2 status.
The clash with Louth will see Harte face the county he managed from 2021 to 2023 and he will be in opposition to former colleague and fellow Tyrone man Gavin Devlin, who is now the manager of the Delaney Cup holders.
A trip to Cedral St Conleth's Park Newbridge to play Kildare awaits the footballers on Saturday, January 31, at 6pm. Offaly defeated Kildare twice in the 2025 league campaign, the second time in the Division 3 decider at Croke Park.
The clash with the Lilywhites will be followed by a home fixture against Cork on Sunday, February 15, at 2pm.
Successive trips to Ulster then await the Offaly footballers with Derry providing the opposition in Celtic Park on Saturday, February 21 at 6pm, while Healy Park, Omagh is the venue for the Faithful County's clash with Mickey Harte's native Tyrone on Saturday, February 28, at 6pm.
The penultimate league fixture will see Cavan travel to Tullamore on Sunday, March 15 for a 2pm throw-in. Offaly complete their Division 2 campaign with a home fixture against Leinster rivals Meath on Sunday, March 22, at 1.15pm.
Should Offaly top Division 2 or achieve a runner-up berth they will contest the final on the weekend of March 28/29.
Meanwhile, following an opening Division 1A clash away to Kilkenny, the Offaly hurlers will host the reigning All-Ireland champions Tipperary in Tullamore on Sunday, February 1, at 2pm.
Resulting from their strong performance in Division 1B this year, the county's hurlers will compete at the highest league level, such fixtures providing good preparation for their Leinster Championship campaign.
A journey to Waterford awaits Offaly on Sunday, February 8, Walsh Park the venue for a 1.45pm throw-in.
Offaly manager Johnny Kelly will face his native Galway in the fourth round of Division 1A fixtures, the game taking place at Grant Heating St Brendan's Park, Birr on Sunday, February 22, at 2pm.
The hurlers return to Tullamore on Sunday, March 1, for a 2pm fixture against Limerick. Offaly will complete their league campaign on Saturday, March 21, with a game against defeated All-Ireland finalists Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoimh at 7pm.
The Allianz Hurling League Division 1A final will take place on the weekend of April 4/5.
