Christmas arrives at Mountlucas parkrun

Christmas cameearly at Mountlucas parkrun at the weekend when Santa arrived for a surprise visit. He arrived in style in a convertible and greeted parkrunners before they set off on their 5km loop. Chocolate treats were provided for all those who attended, generously sponsored by Bord na Móna. Bord na Móna also provided a Mountlucas windfarm 2026 calendar to all attendees. There was a wonderful festive atmosphere with many of those running or walking kitted out in Christmas hats, jumpers and tshirts.

Young Daithí from Rathangan, aged 9, completed his 25th parkrun on the day. Daithí is a great sports person, and plays rugby, gaelic football and hurling, as well as taking part in parkrun in the sports off-season. He completed the 5km course in an impressive 28 minutes 35 seconds, ahead of both his parents and his brothers!
