Eleanor completes her 360th parkrun at the 360th Mountlucas parkrun event!
There was a fantastic turnout for Mountlucas parkrun at the weekend, despite the very cold weather, with 114 people walking, jogging or running the 5km looped course.
There was a somewhat unusual milestone celebrated at the event, where one parkrunner matched a parkrun event number (Mountlucas parkrun #360) to her parkrun total (360 parkruns).
This was completed by Eleanor Kennedy, who had travelled with her friend Bridget from Kildare. Eleanor is an avid parkrunner having taken part in parkruns in more than 50 locations, and has also been a volunteer at parkrun events more than 130 times. Well done Eleanor on reaching this milestone.
This milestone (matching a parkrun event number with your parkrun total) was completed as part of a challenge available on the '5k' app.
Parkrun officially acquired the popular third-party '5k' app in late 2025, bringing its development in-house and integrating it as the official parkrun user app to enhance data, features, and user experience.
The app includes a number of challenges for parkrun participants, for example finish with a palindrome time (e.g. 25.52), or finish with the same time at the same location on two consecutive parkruns.
There was another celebration at Mountlucas parkrun at the weekend as Bruce celebrated his 9th birthday, which coincided with the event. It was a very cold and frosty morning but it didn't slow Bruce who completed the 5km in less than 28.5 minutes.
Mountlucas parkrun takes place at Bord na Móna Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp.
