An Post announces latest increase in stamp prices
An Post has announced a further increase in stamp prices, which it said was a result of a continuing decline in letter volumes along with rising overheads.
From Tuesday, February 3, the cost of a national stamp will increase by 20 cent, to €1.85.
A new €3.50 rate is being introduced for mail to Europe (including Great Britain) and a new 'Rest of World' rate of €3.95 is also being implemented.
An Post said the increases were being introduced to "cover cost inflation and the impact of falling letter revenue".
It added that the new prices were "all in line with the equivalent European average".
Its free delivery service for all letters and parcels up to 1kg posted to residents of Nursing and Care homes in the State will continue.
