Former Offaly secondary school principal mourned
The death has taken place of Michael Moore, a former principal of the Ard Scoil Chiaráin secondary school in Clara.
Mr Moore, a resident of Knockowen Road in Tullamore, and formerly of Moyne, Templetuohy, Tipperary, died yesterday (Wednesday). His passing is mourned by family, friends and his past pupils and staff colleagues in Clara.
One tribute from a former student described him as "a fantastic teacher" who was "totally fair with all students" and was "one of life's true gentlemen".
Mr Moore was predeceased by his brothers Tom, Jack and Ger and his sister Mary.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary and family Michael, David, Raymond, Pauline and Stephen, daughters in law Jackie, Pollee, Chelsea and Megan, grandchildren Shelby, Rhian, Kellen, Ciara, Niamh, Ben and Juliette, great grandchildren Emerson and Rowena, his brothers Pat, Marty and Cornelious, sisters Breda and Nora, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
He will be reposing at his home tomorrow (Friday) from 4pm until 7pm. His removal will then take place on Saturday at 12.15pm to the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12.30pm.
Burial after the Mass will take place in St Colmcille's Cemetery, Durrow.
