Tullamore star goes country on this week's Dancing With The Stars
Tullamore native and singer-songwriter Tolü Makay will be going country on week four of Dancing With The Stars with the return of Country Week.
Following last week’s elimination of singer Brian Kennedy and his pro dancer James Cutler, Tolü and her pro partner, Maciej Zięba, account for one of the top ten remaining couples, who will each dance to country music anthems.
Sunday’s show will see performances to all types of country tunes, from Irish to international and classic to contemporary.
Tolü will take on the first Rumba of the season with her partner, Maciej, when they perform to Faith Hill’s power ballad ‘There You’ll Be’.
This week will see a third couple leaving the competition. The couple with the lowest combined total from judges’ scores and public votes will be eliminated.
Each celebrity couple will be scored by an expert panel of four judges: Oti Mabuse, Brian Redmond, Arthur Gourounlian and Karen Byrne, and as well as the viewing public at home, with the winning couple claiming the much-coveted glitterball trophy at the end of the series.
Dancing with the Stars is hosted by Jennifer Zamparelli and Laura Fox and airs Sundays at 6:30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player until mid March.
The eliminated couple will be interviewed by Laura Fox on 2FM at 9:30am on Monday morning and by Oliver Callan just after 11am.
