The Senior Girls Rugby team from Killina Presentation Secondary School in Rahan, who were crowned Midland Cup champions and also claimed the Leinster 7's Rugby Cup in what has been an outstanding season so far for the team.

Killina girls claim Leinster 7's Rugby Cup

The high-profile success of women's rugby on the national and international stage has been transferring to schools and colleges across the county, and none more so that Killina Secondary School in Rahan, where the senior girls team has been enjoying an outstanding season so far.

Having been crowned Midlands Cup Champions last November, the team went on to enjoy even more success in recent weeks by claiming the Leinster 7's Rugby Cup after a superb win over Creagh College of Wexford.

In a Facebook post, the school said the achievement of the rugby girls was "even more specia"l as it is the first time Killina’s Senior Girls have competed in, and won, either competition. "To do this just one year after winning the Junior titles is a real testament to the commitment, resilience and talent of this group of players" said the post, which congratulated the team on an "outstanding season so far."
