Over 300 trees planted at Tullamore Rugby Club's new development
Tullamore Rugby Club members were joined by a large number of local community groups, including Tidy Towns volunteers and members of the Offaly Climate and Biodiversity Action Group, last weekend for the planting of over 300 native Irish trees along the club boundary in Spollanstown.
Having put out a call on their Facebook page for volunteers to join them for a Community Tree Planting Day, the club was inundated with offers of help from volunteers of all ages. Trees of the Land, which is a cross-border charity initiative working to establish young native trees across the 32 counties of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, very kindly sponsored all the trees which were planted along the perimeter of what will be the exciting new development at the Tullamore Rugby Club headquarters.
