Offaly artist raises €3k for ACT with ‘Art for the Soul’ calendar
Offaly artist Claire Guinan and her Tullamore group have raised €3,237 for Accessible Counselling Tullamore (ACT) through the sale of their charity calendar, Art for the Soul.
The calendar was launched alongside the group’s exhibition at Esker Arts Centre, which featured a selection of paintings and drawings created by Claire’s students.
The exhibition, held in the foyer of the High Street venue, drew strong local support and also marked the official launch of the fundraising calendar.
"We are delighted to have raised €3,237 from the sale of our ‘Art for the Soul’ calendars, with all funds donated to Accessible Counselling Tullamore,” Claire said.
All proceeds from the calendar sales have now been donated to ACT, supporting the organisation’s work in providing timely and affordable counselling services to people across the Midlands.
The group thanked their anonymous sponsor who generously covered the printing costs of the calendar, as well as Esker Arts for hosting the exhibition and everyone who purchased a copy in local shops and at the Bridge Centre.
Taking part in the initiative were Áine, Alice, Anne-Marie, Caroline, Dolores, Elaine, Imelda, Mary P, Mary H, and Máire Nóirín.
