Two young people from Offaly selected as Gaisce Youth Ambassadors
Gaisce, the President’s Award, this week announced the members of its second-ever Youth Ambassador Panel.
And among the 14 panel members are two Offaly representatives; Isabel Browne (Tullamore) and Eoin Moylan (Kilcormac).
The panel consists of young people from all around Ireland, aged 16 to 22, and will run until December 2025.
Eoin is one of three returning Gaisce youth ambassadors this year, having also served on the inaugural panel in 2025.
Gaisce said the youth ambassadors are to "play a key role in championing the Gaisce Award among their peers, in their local communities, and at the national level".
It added that, throughout their term, the panel members would "participate in workshops, attend events, develop new skills, and engage in consultation and decision-making spaces".
They will also explore themes such as sustainable development, inclusion and diversity, and will have the chance to learn from and engage with guest speakers.
Speaking about the youth ambassador panel, Gaisce CEO Avril Ryan said: "I am delighted to welcome a new group of amazing young people to our second Youth Ambassador Panel and to welcome back some familiar faces.
"We are committed to championing the voices of young people from all around Ireland and from a wide range of backgrounds.
"This panel brings fresh perspectives, creativity and energy, and we look forward to seeing the ambassadors embrace all the opportunities that come with being part of the Gaisce Youth Ambassador Panel throughout 2026."
