As well as €500,000 for the N53 Tullamore to Kilbeggan Link Road, the funding announced today includes a similar figure for the Birr Distributor Road and €375,000 for works on the R441 road at Monasteroris .€140,000 has also been allocated for safety works at Killyon Crossroads, while €90,000 is to be spent on safety works in Ballinagar.
News of the roads funding for Offaly has been welcomed by local Fine Gael deputy, John Clendennen, who said the continued safety of all road users is “a key priority” for Fine Gael in government. “Maintaining, developing and keeping our roads safe across Offaly is a responsibility felt by all stakeholders including local representatives, the Gardai and our local authority” he added.
