"A pinch-me moment": Full marks for Tullamore star on Dancing With The Stars
It was a "pinch me moment" for Tullamore singer songwriter Tolü Makay, as she achieved full marks on this week's Dancing With The Stars.
Tolu took to the dancefloor with a Charleston to Raye’s “Where is My Husband!” alongside her partner, Maciej Zięba.
"This was everything, 40/40 full marks," Tolu said. "I just got to dance to Raye's song Where Is My Husband with a live orchestra on live TV on Dancing With The Stars. A pinch me moment. We really gave it everything! Every swirl every lift every kick."
Philip Doyle became the seventh celebrity to be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars this evening. After taking to the dancefloor accompanied live by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra the Olympian and his pro partner Daniela Roze left the competition.
The combined public votes and judges scores saw them face-off against Tolü Makay in the fourth dreaded dance-off of the season.
In addition to their individual performances tonight, all six couples competed in the first ever ‘Orchestra-thon’, a dance marathon that had everyone on the floor simultaneously dancing to Chuck Berry’s ‘Roll Over Beethoven’.
For the first time ever, the marathon had six couples taking part, one more than its usual five, meaning even higher judges’ scores were available to the celebs.
Paudie Moloney was the first to leave the dancefloor with one point, Tolü Makay was out next with two, the judges awarded Katelyn Cummins three, Philip Doyle picked up an extra four, Jordan Dargan scored five and Eric Roberts and his partner Arianna Favaro were last two standing, earning an additional six points on the scoreboard.
Next week is the semi-final and a Dancing through the Decades special. Tune in Sundays at 6.30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
