Warm welcome for €5,000 donation to Clara school playground fundraiser

The children, school community and staff of Scoil Phroionsiais Naofa in Clara were the recent beneficiaries of a generous donation of €5,000 from Offaly charity, Power4Good, towards a planned new playground for the local boy's national school.

The donation was made as part of the school's recent 'Swim a Mile' fundraising initiative which saw students and staff swim a mile which others walked and ran to raise funds for the new playground. Four staff members in the Offaly school even completed a half marathon to help with the fundraising efforts.

The ambitious challenge of building a new playground at Scoil Phroionsiais Naofa needed drive and energy and the wider school community, including staff, Board of Management and Parents Association got behind the project from the outset, and ensured that it would be a success.

As the various fundraising events were drawing to a close, and the school needed support to inch closer to their intended target, Power4Good stepped forward with their generous donation which has allowed the Clara school to raise the barometer to their final target of €40,000 and step closer to building a playground in their school for the benefit of all students.

Expressing their thanks to Power4Good, the staff said they feel "blessed by their generosity which has helped us in a meaningful way."
