Local Gardai issue witness appeal after van is stolen from outside house

Gardai have issued a public appeal for assistance after a vehicle was stolen from the driveway of a home in the Kilbeggan area during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

A local Garda spokesperson said residents of the house at Cornaher, Kilbeggan, were awoken by a noise outside at approximately 5am and, when they looked outside, they saw their van being stolen.

The van was white Citroen Berlingo with no writing on the side. The Garda spokesperson said there were electric gates on the house and that the thief of the van avoided them when making a getaway by driving through a fence around the property.

The stolen van was driven away in the direction of Rahugh, and Gardai are appealing to anyone who was on the road in the area early this morning, and may have witnessed something suspicious, to get in touch.
