Ruaile Buaile to co-headline open-air concert in Comeragh mountains
Popular Offaly band Ruaile Buaile has been announced as the co-headliner of an open-air concert taking place in the Comeragh mountains in Waterford this summer.
The performance by the "twisted trad" group from the Faithful County is part of the 2026 Comeragh's Wild Festival, with The Frank and Walters joining Ruaile Buaile as headliners on Friday, July 10.
The concert is being staged at Cooney’s Yard, set deep in the heart of the Comeragh mountains.
Featuring Niall Kelly, Jack Godley, Shane Lynam, Cathal Guinan and Seán Bourke, Ruaile Buaile has been delighting audiences since 2011.
Announcing the local band's performance, organisers of the Comeragh's Wild Festival said: "Fresh from world-championship success and renowned for their electrifying fusion of Irish favourites, driving trad rhythms and bold re-imagined classics, Ruaile Buaile bring a level of energy that transforms any performance into a full-blown celebration.
"Their shows are famous for turning audiences into dancing crowds from the very first beat — and Cooney’s Yard is set to be no exception."
Festival organiser Bernadette Drohan said the concert continues to be one of the defining moments of the Comeragh’s Wild Festival each year.
"The concert at Cooney’s Yard has become one of the most special parts of the festival. There’s something truly magical about people gathering together for great live music in the middle of the Comeragh Mountains on a summer evening.
"With The Frank and Walters and Ruaile Buaile on the line-up this year, we’re looking forward to an incredible night of nostalgia, energy and celebration."
Early bird tickets for the concert are now available from €25 via the Comeraghs Wild Festival website, and organisers are encouraging music fans to book early as the event attracts strong demand each year.
The full 2026 programme is still to be revealed, with organisers promising one of the most exciting festival line-ups yet. For further details and tickets, see: comeraghswild.com.
