Tullamore choir takes runner-up spot at Prague Festival
Tullamore Stage School Senior Choir travelled to the Young Bohemia Festival in Prague at the weekend and were awarded second place in their competition.
The choir overcame very talented opposition with choirs from all over Europe and the USA taking part in the prestigious festival. Musical Director, Regina McCarthy said to be listed among the prizewinners at such an event is "a huge honour and a testament to the standards of excellence these young singers have achieved."
As well as competing at the Young Bohemia Festival, the members of the Tullamore Stage School Senior Choir also gave a concert performance in Prague, under the baton of their Musical Director, Regina McCarthy and accompanist, Loreta Mackelaite.
With the assistance of teachers Aisling Minnock and Chloe Todd, the choir enjoyed other activities such as a city walking tour, a cruise on the Vltava River and a parade of all choirs. They also found time to indulge in some shopping before heading home after a great weekend where new friends were made and many special memories created.
