Gardaí appeal for assistance on "stolen currach" in Banagher

An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly are appealing for information about a stolen currach taken from the Banagher area.

The traditional currach is described as having a grey hull (outside), green interior and timber frame and seating. An Garda Síochana have said that the currach is a distinctive, traditional boat and would be “easily recognised”.

Gardai are asking who has seen the currach or noticed anything suspicious near the river in Banagher, or has been offered a similar boat for sale, to contact Birr Garda Station at 057 9169710 or the Garda Confidential Line: 1800 666 111.
