Martin marks his 200th parkrun in Mountlucas

There was a special Easter parkrun at Mountlucas parkrun in Offaly on Saturday.

Easter eggs, generously provided by Bord na Móna, were given to all those who participated in, or volunteered at, the event.

There was also a celebratory atmosphere for another reason as Martin Lawlor completed his 200th parkrun. Notably, Martin has completed all 200 of his parkruns at Mountlucas, where he attends almost every week with his family.

Speaking after the event, Martin said: "I am very proud of my achievement today, from a person who originally started walking, to being able to run a full 5km without stopping, I absolutely delighted to have reached my 200th parkrun milestone.

"I couldn't have achieved it without the support of all my family and my parkrun friends."

Brothers Nathan and RJ were delighted with their Easter treats at Mountlucas parkrun this weekend.

Mountlucas parkrun takes place at Bord na Móna Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp.

There's something for everyone at Mountlucas parkrun whether you want to walk, run, volunteer or just meet new people.

Parkrun isn’t just a timed run: it’s about community, inclusivity, and wellbeing. Every event at Mountlucas brings together people of all ages and abilities, creating a warm, encouraging atmosphere.
