Cyclists gear up for 138km fundraising cycle to Offaly village in aid of BUMBLEance

The Clonaslee High Nelly Club will take on a challenging 138km cycle from Croke Park to Shannon Harbour in Offaly in aid of BUMBLEance Children’s Ambulance Service.

The fundraiser is set to take place on Saturday, April 11, with cyclists departing Croke Park, with a Garda and BUMBLEance escort, at 6am.

They will be stopping in Tullamore for a brief break to refuel and say hi to supporters around 1pm. The group is then expected to arrive in Shannon Harbour between 7:30pm and 8:30 pm, where supporters can gather to celebrate the volunteers’ achievement and tour a BUMBLEance vehicle.

BUMBLEance is Ireland’s only dedicated Children’s Ambulance Service. The charity makes a difference by empowering the thousands of families unable to access their child’s healthcare through providing nationwide journeys in a safe, caring, and fun environment, offered completely free of charge.

BUMBLEance, Campaigns and Community Manager, Laura Finnerty, said, “Community fundraising has become more vital than ever for BUMBLEance in light of rapidly increasing fuel costs. The High Nelly Cycle is a fantastic fundraiser, that challenges participants while raising essential funds in an active, environmentally friendly way.”

In 2025, BUMBLEance travelled over 400,000km across 2,122 trips. However, demand continues to rise, with 442 trips going unfulfilled last year – an increase of 27% from 2024. In 2026, the charity is working to reduce the number of unfulfilled trips, expand their services, and support more families than ever before across the whole country.
