Offaly team named for Leinster hurling clash
Offaly hurling manager Johnny Kelly has named his starting team to play Dublin in the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship in Glenisk O'Connor Park Tullamore on Saturday evening at 6.30pm.
Offaly host the Metropolitans in the first of their five round robin fixtures as they aim to maintain a presence in the top tier of intercounty hurling.
The Faithful County support will look towards forwards Daniel Bourke, Brian Duignan and Adam Screeney to provide the necessary firepower as Kelly's charges look to start their provincial campaign with a much needed win.
Fresh from a winless National Hurling League Division 1A campaign at the end of which Offaly were relegated to Division 1B, Kelly's charges will hope to make home advantage count at the start of their championship journey.
Following tomorrow evening's fixture Offaly travel west to play Galway in Pearse Stadium Salthill on Sunday, April 26 (throw-in 3.30pm).
Reigning Leinster senior hurling champions Kilkenny visit Tullamore on Sunday, May 10, for a 3pm throw-in, before Offaly play their penultimate round robin fixture against Wexford on Saturday, May 16, at 6pm, in Glenisk O'Connor Park.
Johnny Kelly's players complete their provincial campaign with what could prove a pivotal game when they visit to St Conleth's Park on Sunday, May 24, to play Kildare at 2pm.
