Influencer Garron Noone has shared a clip of a humanitarian mission led by Offaly man Tom Doyle and Hope On Wheels, as more than 20 volunteers deliver 11 ambulances to Uganda.
The TikTok star shared video footage from the journey, offering an on-the-ground view of the operation as it moves across East Africa.
The clip, filmed during the overland mission organised by Hope on Wheels, shows volunteers travelling as part of the 1,200km route from Mombasa in Kenya to Kampala, where the ambulances will be formally handed over in early June.
The convoy, which departed over the weekend, is being led by Offaly organiser Tom Doyle and involves more than 20 volunteers from across Ireland, including medical staff, emergency service personnel, farmers, and retirees.
Among them is Garda Sergeant McNally, originally from Offaly and based in Athlone, who is taking part in the humanitarian drive to support improved palliative care in Uganda.
The ambulances were donated by the HSE National Ambulance Service, Dublin Fire Brigade, and Civil Defence Ireland, and shipped ahead to East Africa before the convoy set off.
In Uganda, the vehicles will be handed over in partnership with the Palliative Care Association of Uganda and the Uganda Ministry of Health, where they will be used as mobile outreach units to deliver pain relief and end-of-life care to patients in remote communities.
The project is inspired by the work of the late Dr Anne Merriman, founder of Hospice Africa Uganda, whose advocacy helped expand access to affordable palliative care across the region.
Organisers say the convoy also aims to raise up to €500,000 to support hospice services, with the addition of high-profile volunteers helping to broaden awareness of the initiative.
