Status yellow high temperature warning issued for Offaly

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow high temperature warning for eight counties, including Offaly.

A heat warning will be in place for Offaly, Laois, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Galway and Kilkenny from today (Tuesday) at 12pm until Wednesday, at 6pm.

Met Éireann has confirmed that maximum temperatures in excess of 27°C combined with night-time minima in excess of 15°C are expected.

In light of the temperatures, the national weather services has warned of water safety issues due to increased use of lakes/beaches, the possibility of forest fires, uncomfortable sleeping conditions and heat stress due to the current weather conditions.
