Offaly striker achieves Scottish title success with Hearts

Mucklagh's Ellen Dolan has secured her place in sporting history following Heart of Midlothian's inaugural Scottish Women's Premier Division title win on Sunday.

The teenage striker, who joined Hearts from Peamount United in January, played 66 minutes of her team's defeat to city rivals Hibernian on Sunday, but favourable results in other league fixtures ensured the Edinburgh based club claimed the league title for the first time in their history.

According to the official Hearts club website, Dolan has made 13 appearances for the club since her January transfer from the League of Ireland becoming a regular feature in the first team since her signing.

The former Republic of Ireland youth international earned a call-up to the Republic of Ireland women's senior squad in November 2023, having enjoyed remarkable success with Peamount United in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division where she was one of the leading goal scorers.

At the time of her transfer, Hearts manager Eva Olid, described the Mucklagh native as “very versatile and strong in the air” and said she was “very excited” to see her join the Jambos.
