It's 'Make Way Day' across Offaly
Today (Friday, May 29) is officially 'Make Way Day' in Offaly – and the County Council are asking the people to do so respectfully for people with disabilities in public spaces.
The idea for today has been organised by the Disability Federation of Ireland (DFI), to raise awareness and help improve access in towns and cities for everyone.
The council said that 'simple actions can make a big difference'.
People are asked to keep footpaths clear of obstacles such as parked cars or vans, wheelie bins, kegs, sandwich boards, overgrown hedges, and bikes tied to lampposts or railings.
The council added that it's important for everyone in the county to 'work together to make Offaly more accessible for all'.
