Profile of a Parkrunner: Meet Ruben
Meet Ruben, from Daingean, who at just 5 years old, has already completed 22 parkruns.
When did you first complete a parkrun?
I think it was in May last year. I had to start walking and I ran some of it. I did less walking breaks the next time, and then after a few weeks I started running the whole thing.
What's your favourite thing about parkrun?
It feels so nice after it. It feels like you can do even more. I like the people at parkrun. I really like Emily (Farrell) because it's really fun to pass her out!
How does it feel to have completed 22 parkruns at only 5 years of age?
It feels good because I'm so proud of myself.
What is your favourite parkrun memory?
My favourite parkrun memory is when I first completed a parkrun when I ran the whole thing.
What words would you use to describe Mountlucas parkrun?
Parkrun, run, and fun! I've done some other parkruns but Mountlucas parkrun is my favourite because I'm really used to it. Sometimes at the end, me and my brother and sister build a bridge with stones. Playing at the windfarm is fun.
