Offaly company Grant announces €8m investment in local manufacturing

Offaly-based sustainable home heating company Grant has announced an investment of €8 million in its manufacturing facility in the county.

The company said today (Monday) that the investment would support "a significant expansion of its production facilities and the launch of a new range of hot water cylinders designed for use with heat pump systems".

Stephen Grant founded the company, which has its headquarters in Crinkle, Birr. Grant employs more than 400 people and supplies markets across Ireland, the UK, Europe and New Zealand.

The company said the €8m investment has funded both product development and a "major expansion" of its production facilities, reinforcing its commitment to "Irish manufacturing and innovation within the heating, plumbing and construction industries".

As part of the investment, the company has launched its new quick recovery cylinder range, manufactured at Grant's headquarters in Birr.

Grant said the quick recovery cyclinder range was developed to work alongside its Aerona R290 air source heat pump and that, together, they form "a fully integrated home heating system designed to meet the growing demand for low-carbon heating solutions".

Stephen Grant, founder of Grant, said: "We are seeing a clear shift in Ireland and across our wider markets towards sustainable heating technologies.

"This investment ensures we can continue to design and manufacture high-quality, innovative products here in Ireland that support that transition."

The CEO of Grant, Niall Fay, added: "This launch represents an important step in strengthening our position in a rapidly growing heat pump market. By developing cylinders specifically for use with our award-winning Aerona R290 heat pump, we are providing installers and homeowners with a fully integrated solution that delivers both performance and efficiency.

"It also reflects our continued investment in manufacturing and innovation, strengthening our ability to meet growing demand for integrated low-carbon heating solutions and supporting the future of sustainable home heating."

Grant said this latest investment "underscores its commitment to manufacturing in Ireland, driving innovation and supporting the transition to more sustainable home heating, while strengthening its position in a rapidly expanding global market".
