Offaly to host Wexford in Tailteann Cup quarter-final

Offaly senior footballers will host Wexford in a Tailteann Cup quarter-final tie to be played in Glenisk O'Connor Park Tullamore on Saturday at 1pm.

Fresh from impressive wins over Clare and Down, Offaly will have home advantage against Wexford as they aim to secure a place in the semi-finals of this year's competition.

Having failed to win a National Football League Division 2 league game, the Faithful County have shone on their Tailteann Cup run, with three and eight point wins over Clare and Down respectively.

Opponents Wexford have reached this stage of the Tailteann Cup courtesy of wins over Limerick in Round 1 and Leitrim in Round 3.

Defeat to Fermanagh in Round 2A of the competition saw Wexford travelling to Carrick On Shannon on Sunday where they overcame the host's challenge by five points.

Offaly were defeated by eventual Tailteann Cup winners Kildare at the quarter-final stage of last year's competition.

The remaining quarter-final fixtures are Antrim v Wicklow, Laois v Down and Fermanagh v Sligo, with the first named counties having home advantage.

Offaly v Wexford will be broadcast live on GAA+.
