Tickets on sale for Offaly hurlers' quarter-final clash

Tickets go on sale this afternoon (Tuesday) at 2pm for the Offaly senior hurlers' All-Ireland quarter-final fixture against Cork in Semple Stadium, Thurles.

The GAA confirmed on Monday evening that the game would take place in Thurles on Sunday, June 21, at 3.30pm.

Stand tickets (reserved seating) for the quarter-final fixture are priced at €40 adult, €35 student/OAP and €5 for juveniles, Terrace tickets for the fixture are priced at €30 adult and €5 for juveniles.

Tickets are available to purchase at https://gaa.ie/tickets and usual Centra/SuperValu stores.

It is the first time that Offaly have reached this stage of the All-Ireland senior hurling championship since 2003 following their third place finish in the provincial group phase of this year's competition.

Wins over Wexford and Kildare, complemented by draws with Dublin and Kilkenny, have earned The Faithful County a place in the knockout phase of the championship where they will now face the challenge of Munster senior hurling finalists Cork.

Traditionally, All-Ireland quarter-finals have been played as a double-header, but the GAA believe that the demand from supporters to attend the Offaly-Cork game will be such that it merits a stand alone fixture in Thurles.

Offaly last played Cork in the 2024 All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final, a week after the latter had claimed the Joe McDonagh title for the first time, with Cork running out nine point winners.

The second quarter-final, in which Clare play Dublin, will also take place in Semple Stadium Thurles, on Saturday, June 20, at 7pm.

The game will also be broadcast live on RTÉ.
