Local Gardai issue warning over new scam

Gardai in Laois/Offaly are warning of a new scam.

Gardaí said they were aware that there was a scam currently operating in which people receive a call from a scammer purporting to be a Three employee.

They will offer a significant discount or upgrade and then seek information from you in order to receive this discount. Gardaí have confirmed with Three that this is a scam and the calls are not coming from Three employees.

Gardaí are reminding the public to be alert of scams and to never give out details over the phone.

Never share codes/ passwords over the phone, do not click links from unsolicited texts. If unsure make contact with the business directly and contact your bank immediately if you believe you have victim of a scam
